Coming up, Lempriere hype!

Your work has been selected for a group show which attracts much hype, year after year, here in New South Wales: The Helen Lempriere Travelling Art Scholarship.

On the opening night (this coming Thursday) one artist will be selected to be the beneficiary of a hefty $60,00 to undertake a year of study overseas.
As the website says:

In 2008 the Helen Lempriere Travelling Art Scholarship has been significantly strengthened. Now valued at $60,000, the scholarship provides assistance to enable an artist at the outset of his or her career to study art overseas for one to two years at a recognised art institution or to undertake a study program of workshops and study with an artist.

The format of the 2008 exhibition has been re-shaped to allow for greater professional development opportunities for the final selected artists. Importantly, the increase in value to the scholarship has made it one of the richest prizes for emerging contemporary visual artists in Australia.

You will re-present the work completed for a show at FirstDraft earlier in the year, Science Fair.

The work will be the same but the plants developed much in the past months, making it even more spectacular.

The selected finalists are very successful artists, so it will be quite a surprise if you would be granted the chance to attend next teaching section at the Citta’dell’arte, Biella, Italy.
The Unidee is an amazing program for socially-progressive practitioners in various fields.
But hey, you’re lucky enough to make it in the finalists!

Come Thursday evening for opening drinks at Artspace, 43 – 51 Cowper Wharf Road, Woolloomooloo NSW.
There will be also an informal artist’ talk on Thursday 23 October, 6pm, same place.
